For Her Grandchildren… Maybe…

It’s rare for me to see a stranger especially of South Asian and Arab origin and then not think of someone of same age in my family. Despite my bizarre tendency, elderly women like her are easily typecasted as a grandmother. Like this Hajjah here, who was shopping most likely with her grandchildren in mind among others, even started to look like my maternal grandmother as I was processing the photo to turn it into B&W. My maternal grandmother, probably the most influential character in my life, died in 2004, in less than a month after my parents returned from this very place, Saudi Arabia, for performing holy Hajj.
